Over thar. . . at Happy Ass Ranch in Park County, Colorado. We regret the late confirmation of our site for this year's event, we've been diligently evaluating a couple of alternative venues up 'til the eleventh hour. Options are good, but we determined HAR is the most appropriate property for Apogaea this year..

Some members of our community have expressed worries about this location. We want to acknowledge we understand and have shared their concerns. We've met in person with Park County public safety officials regarding our location. Our proactive contact and subsequent dialogue around this years event have been positive. Largely that's been thanks to you. . . as the artistic nature of our event, the success of our leave-no-trace ethos, our attention to detail on event organization, the professionalism of our public safety team (thanks Rangers & EMS!), the extent of our volunteer participation. . . these are all things that distinguish Apogaea in the eyes of permitting officials. It's clearly understood that last year's law enforcement activity was not associated with our event. Potential venues have good impressions of our event and seem eager to work with us. We like it that way, so thank you for doing all your positive voodoo you do do so well.

We'll continue to evaluate site options for Apogaea 2010 and beyond, so we appreciate your suggestions for future locations. Please do not hesitate to contact us with your ideas, questions or concerns.

Oh yeah. . . Apogaea's gonna freakin' rock your ramble downside up & sideways in through the out door. Those of you who experienced Friday's offworld mining colony, where the Expat Aliens set down their saucer on the crust. . . you know what I'm talkin' 'bout. Already I feel advance tremors of this Saturday's seismic rumble when a certain volcano goes active. I'm aware of several Apogaea theme crews who've been busily cross-pollinating, mutating, and getting ready to bring it on. And all the recent precipitation looks good for holding off summer fire restrictions.

So see ya round the volcano, if not this Saturday then hopefully in June.
